Security ahead of demonstration ban

Security ahead of demonstration ban - French media has reported that some soldiers in the French army, which will be present as part of a security measure across France as the Yellow Vest movement announces further demonstrations  this weekend , have said they are concerned following the call to reinforce security and “fear they don’t know how they will react to rioters if they are attacked by them”. The measure to deploy the French army comes after demonstrations broke out in violence last weekend in Paris.

Concerns aired include not having the right protection with one claiming that “people could get killed should violence break out” adding "it’s absurd, we're not prepared for it. We, in technical terms, are fighting against an enemy, and the enemy cannot be the population”.
