2026 population census to begin mid-January in four towns near Nice

The 2026 population census will start on 15 January in Menton, Roquebrune, Castillon and Sospel, with residents required to take part either online or through in-person visits.

The 2026 population census will be carried out in Menton, Roquebrune, Castillon, and Sospel starting on the 15th of January.

Some residents will be selected to complete the survey online, while others may be visited in person by officially accredited census agents.

Participation is mandatory, and the data collected is vital for planning local services such as schools, hospitals, transport, and even the number of pharmacies.

Letters explaining the process will be delivered by the mayor’s office, and residents are urged to respond promptly to ensure accurate local statistics.
