Angry farmers in Aix region this Monday morning
Angry farmers in Aix region - The end of last week marked an easing on French farmers protests across France however, the president of the farmers union Arnaud Rousseau did reiterate that the “suspension” of their movement, which led to most motorways being unblocked, did not mean an end to protests and this morning from 3am angry farmers blocked a Casino and Lidl purchasing centre in Aix. The group of non-unionized farmers from the Aix and South Luberon region claim that new measures announced by the French government were not concrete enough.
The French government had announced last Thursday, new measures including a tax aid of 150 million euros for breeders, a pause in the Écophyto plan, strengthening of controls within the framework of the Egalim Law as well as administrative simplifications.
