He crossed the line 4.81 seconds behind Switzerland’s Franjo von Allmen, who took gold in 1:25.32.
The 32-year-old, competing in his second event of the Games after placing 31st in the downhill, had promised a more aggressive approach following his earlier race.
His participation marks a notable achievement, coming just six months after surgery for two herniated discs.
Von Allmen secured his third gold of the Games, ahead of American Ryan Cochran-Siegle (silver) and Switzerland’s Marco Odermatt (bronze), as the Swiss team continued to dominate alpine skiing.
