Blow to six private beaches on the Prom - 14 of the 20 private beaches on the Promenade des Anglais have been granted their renewal leaving 6 which will not be renewed and result in a change of management. The change is a first in the 150 year history of the private beaches on the Baie des Anges. The news has left many owners angry with many claiming to be left in financial difficulty. According to local media the state has increased the beach rental by 60% at approximately 100,000 euros on average per year.
