The 51-year-old actor was a guest on the show hosted by Will Arnett, Jason Bateman and Sean Hayes, where the topic arose amid online commentary sparked by his promotional tour for his latest film, Is This Thing On?, released in US cinemas in December.
Arnett recalled being asked to share something people might not know about Cooper, joking that despite widespread claims online, the actor has not undergone cosmetic surgery.
Bateman quickly backed him up, with Arnett adding: “Obviously, he hasn’t.”
Cooper thanked his colleagues for setting the record straight, noting that recent comments on his appearance had become increasingly frequent.
“People have been coming up to me saying, ‘Wow, you look great,’” he said, acknowledging how such remarks had fuelled the rumours.
The speculation largely stemmed from red carpet photos in which fans struggled to recognise the actor, some even suggesting a stand-in had been used due to his slimmer appearance.
Cooper stressed that the only major physical transformation of his career was for his role as Leonard Bernstein in Maestro (2023), which involved extensive prosthetic make-up.
“If I change my appearance for a role, I don’t hide it,” he implied, drawing a clear line between acting requirements and cosmetic procedures.
