Calls for exam to be scrapped - Teachers’ unions in France have signed an open letter addressed to the French Education Minister on Tuesday asking for tests to be taken by first year primary school pupils (CP) which are scheduled to begin next week, be scrapped on the grounds that they are pointless. Teachers noted that the tests provoke anxiety and were inappropriate for CP students who do not yet know how to read.
