Cannes city centre turns stage for Julien Cohen flashmob
Around 120 musicians and singers joined Julien Cohen for a surprise flashmob performance of Viva la Vida in central Cannes.
Shoppers in Cannes were treated to a surprise musical spectacle on Saturday afternoon when social media piano star Julien Cohen staged a large-scale flashmob in Place de Gaulle.

Around 120 performers gradually emerged from the crowd as Cohen began playing Viva la Vida by Coldplay.
They included members of the Cannes Orchestra, percussionists from L’Espérance de Cannes, vocal ensemble La Sestina and local youth choirs, transforming the city centre into an open-air concert hall.
The performance, organised by the City of Cannes, was filmed for Cohen’s next online project.
Six takes were needed to capture the scene, which drew a large crowd of onlookers armed with smartphones.
The video is expected to be released in the coming weeks.
