Former England midfielder Michael Carrick believes Jude Bellingham’s place in England's starting eleven for next summer’s World Cup is far from assured.

While Bellingham is widely regarded as one of the brightest young talents in world football and has enjoyed a standout season with Real Madrid, Carrick suggested that competition in England’s midfield remains fierce.

The 21-year-old started in last weekend’s qualifying win away to Albania, delivering a typically energetic performance.
