The winner, who has chosen to stay anonymous, said he was still “in shock” after claiming the prize during an Ultimate Poker game on Saturday evening.

He added that, despite the excitement, he intended to “think calmly” about how to use the money.

Ultimate Poker is a modern variant of Texas Hold’em in which players compete against the house rather than against one another.

The game includes optional side bets that can trigger significant bonuses and progressive jackpots when rare hands appear, contributing to occasional large payouts.

This latest win adds to a run of notable jackpots at the Cannes casino this year.

Earlier in 2025, the venue recorded major wins of €60,864 in January and €52,498 in July, continuing a strong streak of high-value payouts for players.
