Ferrari revealed the new look ahead of the Formula 1 Louis Vuitton Grand Prix de Monaco 2026, with the Monegasque driver swapping the team's traditional red colours for a predominantly white design featuring red accents inspired by the Monaco flag.
The bespoke suit will be worn exclusively by Leclerc throughout the race weekend, while Ferrari team-mate Lewis Hamilton will continue to use the team's standard racewear.
A tribute to home
For Leclerc, competing in Monaco remains the most personal race on the Formula 1 calendar.
"To race at home is very, very special," he said in a video shared by Ferrari.
"Those are the streets that I've been taking my bus since I was a kid. On the track, whichever corner I am in, I've got a story of my childhood or from when I started racing."
The 28-year-old grew up in the Principality and achieved a lifelong dream when he secured his first Monaco Grand Prix victory in 2024, ending years of frustration at his home event.
The unveiling quickly generated excitement among Formula 1 fans, many of whom are now hoping Ferrari will also introduce a special Monaco-themed livery for the SF-26.
The white-and-red design has also drawn comparisons with the colours Leclerc wore during his rookie Formula 1 season with Sauber in 2018 before joining Ferrari the following year.
Looking to bounce back
Leclerc arrives in Monaco determined to recover from a difficult Canadian Grand Prix, which he described as one of the toughest weekends of his Formula 1 career.
After struggling for pace throughout the event and finishing behind Hamilton, the Ferrari driver will be hoping the familiar streets of Monte Carlo can provide a return to form as he targets another strong result in front of his home crowd.
With championship contenders Mercedes, McLaren and Red Bull all expected to challenge at the front, Leclerc will once again carry the hopes of local fans as Formula 1 returns to the Principality.
