The Christmas Market, set once again in Jardin Albert Ier and on Place Masséna, opened with the official switch-on of the city’s lights, featuring 100% LED decorations and a laser show.

Around 65 chalets and 70 regional exhibitors make up the traditional village, offering holiday specialties, crafts and a lively food court, while new themed areas, dance sessions and activities for all ages will animate the gardens throughout the season.

Daily workshops, musical entertainment and children’s games will be spread across several key sites, including Promenade du Paillon, Place Rossetti, Gare du Sud and Parc Phoenix.

Santa Claus will also make appearances at various moments during the festivities.

On Place Masséna, the Ferris wheel and other rides return, providing panoramic views over Nice’s illuminated centre.

One of the major highlights, the Grand Christmas Parade organised by Nice Shopping, will take place on Sunday 7 December.

The free event brings together more than 200 artists, 15 performing troupes and several carnival floats for a 90-minute procession from Avenue Jean-Médecin to Place Masséna, drawing tens of thousands of spectators each year.
