Ciotti leads first round of municipal elections in Nice
Éric Ciotti finished first in the first round of the Nice municipal election with about 43% of the vote, while several cities in the Alpes-Maritimes confirmed results and others head to a second round.
The first round of the municipal elections took place on Sunday, March 15 across the Alpes-Maritimes, with Éric Ciotti finishing well ahead in Nice, while several other cities have already confirmed their results.

According to official figures from the prefecture, Éric Ciotti received around 43.4% of the vote in Nice, clearly ahead of the incumbent mayor Christian Estrosi, who secured about 30.9%.
On the left, Juliette Chesnel-Le Roux obtained 11.8%, allowing her to qualify for the second round scheduled for March 22, while Mireille Damiano failed to reach the 10% threshold required to remain in the race.
Several results already decided in the department
In other major cities of the Alpes-Maritimes, some elections were decided in the first round.
In Cannes, outgoing mayor David Lisnard was comfortably re-elected with more than 81% of the vote, while Jean Leonetti also secured another term in Antibes, winning 66.6%.
In Cagnes-sur-Mer, Bryan Masson was elected mayor in the first round with just over 50% of the vote.
Run-off expected in Menton
The situation remains open in Menton, where Alexandra Masson finished first with 36.25%, but three other candidates — Sandra Paire, Louis Sarkozy and Florent Champion — also qualified for the second round.
Across the department, the results confirm the Alpes-Maritimes as one of the key battlegrounds of the 2026 municipal elections, with several races still to be decided next week.
