‘City-wide 30km/h speed limit needed’, says Nice cycling group

The cycling advocacy group Nice à Vélo has called for a 30km/h speed limit across the entire city of Nice.

They describe the measure as essential to improving safety for cyclists and pedestrians.

The proposal forms part of a wider set of recommendations submitted to all candidates in the 2026 municipal elections.

Based on public debates and a citizen consultation, the measures also include expanding cycling infrastructure and improving safety around schools.

With the first round of voting just weeks away, Nice à Vélo says its proposals aim to place active mobility and road safety at the centre of the local election campaign.
