Several routes are either closed or tricky to navigate, particularly in mountain areas including Valberg, Isola 2000, Auron and the upper Tinée and Vésubie valleys.

There’s a strong risk of ice, with avalanche warnings still in place until at least Friday.

Some key roads, including parts of the Estéron and the Haut-Var, remain shut, while others have only just reopened.

If you’re heading out, authorities are advising extreme caution — and to check road conditions before travelling, especially at higher altitude.
