He arrived on the blue carpet in Los Angeles with his wife, Lauren Hashian, their daughters Jasmine, 10, and Tiana, 8, his mother Ata, eldest daughter Simone, 24, as well as his ex-wife and longtime producing partner Dany Garcia and her husband, Dave Rienzi.

Jasmine and Tiana wore matching blue dresses featuring red hibiscus flowers, while Simone opted for a black midi dress.

The appearance marked another rare red carpet outing for Johnson's younger daughters, who previously attended the Moana 2 premiere in Hawaii in 2024.

Johnson reprises his role as the demigod Maui, having previously voiced the character in the original 2016 animated film and its sequel.

The live-action remake stars newcomer Catherine Laga'aia as Moana, alongside John Tui, Frankie Adams, Rena Owen and Jemaine Clement.

Also attending the premiere were several members of the cast, director Thomas Kail, producer and songwriter Lin-Manuel Miranda, and original Moana voice actress Auli'i Cravalho, who serves as an executive producer on the film.

Johnson has previously revealed that his daughters are huge fans of Maui and even made cameo voice appearances in Moana 2.

Last week, he also confirmed that a third animated Moana film is already in development.

The live-action Moana arrives in cinemas on 10 July.
