The actress, who played Gabrielle Solis from 2004 to 2012, made the confession during an appearance on Jesse Tyler Ferguson’s Dinner’s On Me podcast.

Despite the show finding a new audience through streaming and social media clips, Longoria said she has no plans to revisit Wisteria Lane from the viewer’s side.

“Everybody’s re-watching it,” she said, joking that she often receives streaming notifications asking if she wants to watch the series.

Her answer? “No, I don’t. I’m fine. I made it.”

No reboot for now

Longoria also addressed the question fans continue to ask: could Desperate Housewives return?

According to the actress, creator Marc Cherry has no plans to revive the original series, believing the characters’ stories have already been fully explored.

The show ran for eight seasons and produced 180 episodes, a much heavier workload than many modern series.

Longoria joked that her character had already exhausted plenty of storylines, adding that Gabrielle had “slept with everybody” on the street.

A possible new chapter

Although a direct reboot seems unlikely, the Desperate Housewives universe is not completely closed.

A spin-off produced by Kerry Washington is reportedly in development, with former cast member Felicity Huffman previously expressing support for the project.

The original series, which also starred Teri Hatcher, Marcia Cross, Felicity Huffman, Nicollette Sheridan and James Denton, remains one of the most memorable TV dramas of the 2000s.
