David Lynch dies at 78 - Hollywood has paid tribute to David Lynch describing him as “a singular, visionary dreamer’. Steven Spielberg, Nicolas Cage, Ron Howard and others shared their respects for filmmaker who died this week at 78. The death of Lynch, whose works include Twin Peaks, was announced by his family on Facebook earlier on Thursday. Lynch developed a singular style. From the black and white zombie story "Eraserhead" in 1977, his first feature film financed by odd jobs, to "Sailor and Lula" in 1990 which won a Palme d'Or in Cannes, most of his works have become cult. Nominated several times for the Oscars. In France, he won the César for best foreign film for "Mulholland Drive".
