France braces for colder weather later this month

France could see a chilly shift later this week as polar air brings frosty mornings and possible snow in the north-east, though it’s not expected to be a major cold wave and more unsettled weather is likely nationwide.

Meteo France warns that polar air from Siberia and Scandinavia may bring frost, icy mornings, and even some snow, especially in Paris and the north-east.

Forecasters say it’s unlikely to be a full-blown “cold wave,” with temperatures expected to hover around 4–5°C nationally.

Unsettled weather is more likely, with snow in the mountains, wind, and rain at lower altitudes.

Authorities continue to monitor the situation, particularly after recent flooding alerts in the south of France.
