French President to address public this evening on the coronavirus - French President Emmanuel Macron will address the French public this evening in a televised speech at 8pm tonight, the Elysée has just confirmed. The President will announce new measures to combat the spread of the coronavirus.

The head of state is expected to announce the measures which are to be decided at a lunch with members of the Defense Council.
