Harry Styles breaks Wembley record with 12 sold-out shows and emotional One Direction tribute

The London residency, part of his Together, Together world tour, surpassed the previous record of 10 Wembley shows set by Coldplay and also overtook Taylor Swift's eight-night run at the stadium in 2024.

Originally scheduled for six concerts, the residency was extended to 12 nights due to overwhelming demand, with around 80,000 fans attending the final show.

Emotional tribute to One Direction

During the closing concert, Styles reflected on his journey from The X Factor contestant to Wembley headliner, recalling how he auditioned just outside the stadium 16 years ago.

He paid an emotional tribute to his former One Direction bandmates, saying he would not be where he is today without them.

"I wouldn't be on this stage if it wasn't for four friends of mine that were a massive part of this journey," he told the crowd.

"I want to thank Niall, Louis, Zayn and my dear friend Liam... none of this would be possible."

The tribute included a special mention of Liam Payne, who died in 2024 at the age of 31.

The final night also featured a surprise appearance by Styles' sister, Gemma, who congratulated her brother on his achievement and reflected on driving him to his X Factor audition all those years ago.

She told the audience she was proud not only of his success, but of "who you are and who you allow others to be."

Tour continues worldwide

The Wembley residency forms part of Styles' ambitious Together, Together tour, which is built around extended residencies rather than traditional city-to-city touring.

Following London, the tour will continue with performances in Brazil, Mexico, the United States and Australia before concluding later this year.
