Heatwave continues across the Côte d'Azur with highs of up to 39°C
The Var remains under an orange heatwave alert and the Alpes-Maritimes under a yellow alert as temperatures are forecast to reach up to 39°C on Monday.
The Alpes-Maritimes and Var remain under heatwave alerts on Monday 20 July, with temperatures expected to climb well above 30°C and authorities urging people to take precautions during the hottest part of the day.

The Var is under an orange heatwave alert, with temperatures forecast to reach 39°C inland.
Highs of 38°C are expected in Salernes and Brignoles.
Along the coast, highs of around 34°C are forecast.
Meanwhile, the Alpes-Maritimes remains on a yellow heatwave alert, with inland temperatures expected to peak at 37°C.
Morning temperatures will already be high, ranging from 23°C to 29°C in the Alpes-Maritimes and 27°C to 32°C in the Var.
The UV index will remain high at 8 or above across both departments.
Winds are expected to strengthen during the day, with gusts of up to 45 km/h in parts of the Alpes-Maritimes and up to 50 km/h in the Var by the afternoon.
Authorities are advising residents and visitors to stay hydrated, avoid prolonged exposure to the sun during the hottest hours and take extra care of vulnerable people.
