Both departments are also under yellow thunderstorm warnings as unstable weather is expected later in the day.

Temperatures will once again climb above 30°C, reaching up to 34°C inland, while high humidity will make it feel as hot as 36°C in some areas.

Overnight temperatures have remained unusually high, offering little relief, and UV levels are expected to reach a very high 8 to 9 out of 10.

Along the coast, conditions will stay mostly sunny, but thunderstorms are forecast to develop over inland and mountainous areas during the afternoon and evening.

Heavy rain, hail and strong wind gusts are possible, particularly in the Haut-Var and the upper Var Valley, where a yellow flood alert is also in place.

The Riviera remains part of a wider national heatwave that has broken temperature records across France.

Authorities continue to advise residents and visitors to stay hydrated, avoid strenuous activity during the hottest hours of the day and remain alert for rapidly changing weather conditions.
