Heatwave set to hit the Côte d’Azur this weekend as temperatures soar
Temperatures are set to soar across the Côte d’Azur this weekend, with highs of up to 37°C forecast inland as the season’s first major heatwave arrives.
A new spell of hot weather is expected to sweep across south-eastern France this week, with temperatures rising steadily before peaking between Friday and Sunday.

While the start of the week will remain somewhat unsettled, with a risk of thunderstorms in parts of the Alpes-Maritimes, conditions are expected to become increasingly sunny and warmer as the weekend approaches.
According to Météo-France forecasts, coastal areas of the Alpes-Maritimes and Var should remain relatively moderate thanks to sea breezes, with temperatures generally ranging from the high 20s to low 30s.
Further inland, however, temperatures are expected to climb significantly.
Parts of the Alpes-Maritimes could reach around 36°C by the weekend, while some areas of the Var may see highs of up to 37°C.
Authorities are advising residents and visitors to take precautions as temperatures rise, including staying hydrated, avoiding prolonged exposure to the sun during the hottest hours of the day and checking on vulnerable people.
If forecasts hold, this will be the first significant heatwave of the summer for the Côte d’Azur, arriving just as the region prepares for a busy start to the holiday season.
