Heatwave warning lifted in Alpes-Maritimes, with temperatures still reaching 35°C
The Alpes-Maritimes will drop from orange to yellow heatwave alert at 6am on Monday, with temperatures still reaching 35°C inland. Afternoon thunderstorms are expected, while the Var remains on orange alert as the heatwave gradually eases.
The heatwave is gradually easing in the Alpes-Maritimes, with Météo-France set to lift the orange heatwave warning from 6am on Monday 17 August.

The department will return to yellow alert, although thunderstorms are expected in the afternoon.Temperatures will remain high, reaching 28–29°C along the coast and up to 35°C inland, particularly around Puget-Théniers.
Nice and Saint-Sauveur-sur-Tinée could reach 30°C, while Guillaumes and Théoule-sur-Mer may see highs of 31°C.Thunderstorms are possible between 2pm and 8pm, with showers expected first around Tende before spreading towards Roquebillière.
The Var will remain under an orange heatwave warning throughout Monday, while six departments across southeastern France will remain on orange alert. Overall, however, the latest forecast points to a gradual end to the current heatwave.
