A historic 18th-century bastide set in 4.5 hectares of land has been put up for sale in Ollioules, near Toulon, with an asking price of €4.2 million.

Known as Villa Brignac, the imposing property dates back to around 1780 and offers about 700 square metres of living space over three floors, with panoramic views over the Toulon roadstead and the surrounding hills.
The estate also includes a 17th-century outbuilding, a swimming pool, extensive reception areas and several historic features reflecting its long and eventful past.
Fully renovated in 2012 to combine period character with modern comforts, the villa has previously been used as a prestigious venue for weddings and events.
Its owners say the sale is a family decision, citing the complexity of maintaining such a large historic property.
