The auction, organised by Millon, features 965 lots including 18th and 19th-century furniture, paintings, Murano chandeliers and rare decorative pieces amassed over two decades by owner Frédéric Champavère.

The sale is part of efforts to facilitate the sale of the château itself, which has been on the market for four years.

Bidding got off to a lively start, with some lots far exceeding their guide prices within seconds.

More than 1,000 people attended pre-sale viewings, highlighting strong interest in what auctioneers describe as one of the most significant château sales in Provence in recent years.
