The vessel WIKI will travel more than 40,000 kilometres as part of the “Wiki’s Centennial Expedition”, led by filmmaker Tom Woods.

The project aims to document issues such as plastic pollution, marine biodiversity loss and threats to marine wildlife.

Researchers, sailors and young journalists on board will work with coastal communities and local organisations to share findings and support environmental initiatives.

The voyage also includes education programmes for students, with workshops designed to promote hands-on learning about ocean protection.

Backed by environmental groups including Blue Alliance Monaco, the expedition begins with stops in Nice, Port-Cros, Corsica and Italy.
