The contactless validation feature was suspended in July 2024 following a dispute with Apple over access to NFC technology.

Now, after fresh negotiations, the service is set to return in September 2026.

Passengers will simply download the “Carte Lignes d’Azur” app and hold their iPhone against the reader, just as they would with a travel card.

Officials say the move will make journeys smoother and help tackle fare evasion.
