Gasly had initially finished third on track before receiving two five-second penalties for exceeding the pit lane speed limit, promoting fellow Frenchman Hadjar to the podium.

The penalties were later removed following a review requested by Alpine, but that decision has now been overturned.

The reversal had temporarily restored Gasly to third place, pushing Hadjar down to fourth.

Red Bull and McLaren subsequently appealed the decision, with McLaren also affected because Oscar Piastri had received and served a penalty for exceeding the pit lane speed limit during the same race.

The FIA Court of Appeal has now ruled in favour of Red Bull and McLaren, reinstating Gasly’s original penalties.

As a result, Hadjar is officially classified third, while Gasly drops to seventh place.

Alpine said it was disappointed with the outcome and maintained that Gasly had not exceeded the pit lane speed limit.

However, the team acknowledged the court’s decision and said its focus would now return to the remainder of the championship.

The FIA has also announced that it will review the methodology and operation of its Formula 1 timing system, as well as related regulations and aspects of its review and appeal procedures.
