The rapper, also known as Ye, had been scheduled to perform at the city's 103,000-capacity RCF Arena this summer.

However, local authorities ordered the event's cancellation, citing the risk of protests and safety issues.

A separate concert by fellow US rapper Travis Scott, planned for the same venue as part of the Pulse of Gaia Festival, has also been banned.

Officials said the decision was influenced by concerns raised by consumer groups and representatives of the local Jewish community regarding West's past antisemitic remarks.

Authorities also pointed to the large number of spectators expected to attend both events within a 24-hour period and the potential strain on public safety resources.

Scott has faced scrutiny over concert safety since the fatal crowd crush at the Astroworld Festival in Texas, which left 10 people dead and hundreds injured.

The move follows the cancellation of this year's Wireless Festival in London after West was prevented from entering the UK, with authorities stating his presence would not be conducive to the public good.
