Speaking in a new three-part Netflix documentary about her life, the singer described the moment she learned she had cancer as a “shock” and said she was forced into “a crash course” in understanding the illness.
The pop star, who has lived in London for much of her career, also reflected on the harsh media treatment she faced as a young performer after moving from Australian soap Neighbours into music.
“When I see some of that footage back, I’m still as confounded as I was even as a 19-year-old,” she said, describing some interviews as “humiliation”.
Minogue revealed she had turned down requests to make a documentary for years before finally agreeing to participate.
“If not now, when?” she told reporters.
The singer also hinted she may return to perform at Hyde Park after recalling her 2024 appearance there, saying: “Maybe I will. It was amazing.”
Alongside music, Minogue said she hopes to return to acting in the future, calling music both “a best friend” and “a saviour”.
