Lubrizol factory fire - The pollution caused by the Lubrizol factory fire in Rouen has had an impact on agricultural production and crops in the surrounding area. While the government waits for health guarantees, the vegetable and animal products of 112 municipalities have been frozen. The decree lays down "restrictions on the marketing of milk, eggs, honey and farmed fish, as well as crop production or animal feed", but also "animal or animal products ". Failure to comply with these measures "is punishable by imprisonment for two years and a fine of 300,000 euros",

Meanwhile the farmer compensation scheme is not yet established as farmers are concerned about the economic impact of the pollution. Speaking to French media on Sunday the Minister of Economy and Finance Bruno Le Maire said he wanted farmers to be compensated.
