The match saw Littler progress despite being booed during the contest.

The win keeps the reigning champion on course as the tournament reaches its later stages at Alexandra Palace.

Littler, who won the title last year, will now look ahead to the quarter-finals as he aims to retain the championship.

Elsewhere in the competition, Dutch player Kevin Doets is set to face second seed Luke Humphries in their round four match this evening, as the remaining places in the quarter-finals are decided.
