Lyon named city with fasted fixed line internet
Lyon named city with fasted fixed line internet - The city of Lyon has been named the city with the fastest fixed-line internet in the world, according to new figures from global speed-testing platform Speedtest. Lyon tops the international league table, thanks to its widespread fibre-optic network, with 97% of properties eligible for fibre. Paris also made the list, ranked 23rd. However, both cities performed less well for mobile data, with Paris and Lyon ranked 35th and 40th respectively. France as a whole is now third globally for fixed broadband speed, just behind Singapore and Hong Kong. The results reflect progress under France’s Plan France Très Haut Débit, which aims to provide high internet speeds to every home and business by the end of the year.
