Man arrested for trying to kidnap young girl in front of her school

Man arrested for trying to kidnap young girl in front of her school - A man known to police for sexual assaults in several French cities, has been arrested by police in the Var after attempting to kidnap a 10-year-old child near her school on Monday morning. The incident occurred at around 8am near the entrance to her school in La Garde. According to police the man was seen engaging in a conversation with the young girl before ordering her to follow him, upon which she refused. The suspect then violently pulled her by the arm which alerted a staff member who promptly intervened. Fleeing the scene, he was later caught during a search by police. He was found hiding under a wheelbarrow in a garden of a nearby house.
