The upcoming Ocean’s 11 prequel, led by Margot Robbie, will take place during the legendary Monaco Grand Prix - bringing the glamour of the Principality to the big screen.

Set in the early 1960s, the film will shift focus away from Danny Ocean and instead explore the origins of the famous conman through his parents.

Robbie and Bradley Cooper are expected to play the duo, portrayed as seasoned masterminds pulling off a daring heist during the 1962 race weekend.

The project has gone through several changes before taking its current shape.

Initially linked to Ryan Gosling, the role has now been taken over by Bradley Cooper, who is also tipped to direct the film.

Known for both his acting and filmmaking, Cooper’s involvement signals a more personal and ambitious take on the story.

While plot details remain largely under wraps, early insights suggest a mix of romance, adventure and classic heist elements - all set against the high-society atmosphere of Monaco at the height of its glamour.

The Grand Prix, with its yachts, elite guests and iconic setting, is expected to play a central role in the film’s aesthetic and storyline.

The prequel will expand the Ocean’s universe alongside another upcoming instalment, Ocean’s Fourteen, which is set to reunite original cast members including George Clooney and Brad Pitt.

Filming for the prequel is expected to begin this year, with a release planned for 2027.
