The project, backed by more than €4 million in funding, marks the completion of the first phase of a wider plan to preserve the coastline while maintaining the area’s appeal for visitors and local businesses.
Designed to reduce the force of waves before they reach the shore, the submerged structure helps stabilise the beach and limit sand loss.
At the same time, the shoreline has been reshaped and widened through sand replenishment, significantly improving beach conditions ahead of the busy season.
The works were completed in time for beach operators to reinstall their facilities, offering a boost to local activity.
Environmental monitoring was also carried out throughout the project to protect marine ecosystems.
A second phase is scheduled for later this year, with further adjustments planned along the coast.
