The winning ticket, bearing the My Million code QP 012 5788, was validated on 12 December, but the holder has yet to come forward.

Under French lottery rules, winners have 60 days to claim their prize.

The deadline expires at 11.59pm on Monday 9 February.

According to Le Dauphiné Libéré, the ticket was purchased at a retail outlet in Vaucluse, but no contact has been made with lottery operator Française des Jeux (FDJ), either in person or via its customer service line.

FDJ says this is the only requirement to secure the winnings: come forward in time.

Anyone who played EuroMillions in the area late last year is being urged to check their tickets carefully before it is too late.
