When the sale reopened on Monday 1 December for its second week, around 150–200 people arrived within minutes, quickly filling the charity’s halls.

To help manage the crowds, Mission Enfance distributed consigned shopping bags, allowing the event to run more smoothly.

The braderie continues on 2 and 4 December and plays an important role in financing humanitarian aid shipments to Burkina Faso.

Organisers say that this year’s strong attendance should be enough to cover the full cost of the next container sent by the charity.

Despite the brisk pace of early sales, volunteers report that many quality items are still available, encouraging shoppers to return throughout the remaining dates.

The strong community participation reflects growing local support for Mission Enfance’s humanitarian work.
