The 31-year-old joined Kazakh team XDS-Astana on 1 August, signing until the end of the 2027 season.
He moved from Netcompany-INEOS, where he claimed his first UCI WorldTour victory by winning the sixth stage of the Tour of Poland last year and finished fifth overall.
Langellotti is also the reigning Monaco national champion in both the time trial and road race.
As the only rider entered in this year’s national championships in Spain, he won both titles and will wear Monaco’s red-and-white champion’s jersey for the next year.
The Vuelta will start in Monaco on 22 August with an individual time trial through the Principality, followed the next day by a road stage from Monaco to Manosque.
After making his debut for XDS-Astana at the Tour of Poland, Langellotti said he was delighted to join his new team and hinted at his hopes of being selected for the Vuelta.
The team has yet to confirm its final line-up, although XDS-Astana general manager Alexandre Vinokourov has said Langellotti is being considered for the race.
