Speaking ahead of the event, race director Solenne Arrighi said Monaco has been a key venue for the championship since 2015, describing it as a flagship round that showcases the potential of the all-electric series on one of motorsport’s most demanding street circuits.
She said there was a clear sense of anticipation in the paddock as teams arrived from the previous round in Berlin, noting the “buzz” around the event and the enthusiasm from drivers and staff as race weekend approaches. This year marks the second consecutive season Monaco will host a double-header format, with two races across the weekend.
Organisers say the format has added unpredictability and helped strengthen the event’s appeal, particularly given the variable weather conditions often seen in the Principality. Arrighi confirmed there will be no major sporting changes for this edition, as Formula E transitions between technical eras, with the Gen3 Evo era coming to an end.
A new generation of cars is expected to appear in future events, while the current “Pit Boost” feature returns for another season.Addressing comparisons with Formula 1, she described Formula E as a more compact and entertainment-focused series, with races lasting around 45 minutes.
She said the format, combined with strategic power boosts, creates a more dynamic and unpredictable racing style.“It’s a real show,” she said, adding that the series aims to stand out through accessibility, shorter race formats and fan engagement, including free fan zones and on-site entertainment.
Looking ahead, organisers say they hope to continue expanding the Monaco E-Prix in future seasons, working closely with the Automobile Club of Monaco and local authorities to build on growing interest in the series.
