This year’s edition once again transforms Monaco into a showcase for the future of motorsport and sustainable mobility, with the latest generation GEN3 Evo cars taking centre stage around the legendary Monte-Carlo circuit.
Formula E’s fastest and most advanced era yet
Twelve years after the championship first launched, Formula E has evolved dramatically.
The current GEN3 Evo single-seaters are now capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 1.8 seconds - quicker than a Formula 1 car.
The new generation introduces all-wheel drive for the first time in Formula E history during qualifying sessions, race starts and Attack Mode activations, delivering even more performance and spectacular racing around Monaco’s narrow streets.
The cars also feature a more refined aerodynamic design, with a slimmer front wing and improved efficiency thanks to advanced regenerative braking systems.
But one of the most anticipated moments of the weekend will come tomorrow morning, when former Formula 1 driver David Coulthard takes to the Monaco circuit behind the wheel of the future GEN4 car.
David Coulthard to drive Formula E’s future car in Monaco
Fans attending Sunday’s action will get an exclusive first look at Formula E’s next chapter as David Coulthard demonstrates the upcoming GEN4 single-seater on track at 9:25am.
The GEN4, which will officially debut next season, promises to become the fastest Formula E car ever built.
With up to 600 kW of power available during qualifying and Attack Mode - and 450 kW during races - it will also be the first Formula E car to permanently feature four-wheel drive.
Coulthard’s appearance is expected to be one of the standout moments of the Monaco weekend, offering fans a glimpse into the future of electric racing on one of motorsport’s most famous circuits.
