The new rules are in force from 6 to 10 May, as the Principality hosts the annual luxury car showcase, which attracts high-performance vehicles and enthusiasts from around the world.
Officials say the aim is to curb dangerous behaviour on public roads, including excessive speeding, loud engine revving and risky manoeuvres.
According to public security chief Eric Arella, the presence of powerful cars during the event often leads some drivers to treat the streets like a racetrack.
He stressed that while showcasing vehicles is acceptable, irresponsible driving will not be tolerated.
Police will increase patrols in key areas such as the harbour, the Casino district and sections of the Formula 1 circuit.
Preventive roadside checks for alcohol, drugs and speed will also be carried out.
The crackdown follows previous years in which dozens of vehicles were seized.
In 2025, 46 cars and one motorcycle were impounded, a drop from more than 100 in 2019, suggesting that stricter enforcement is beginning to have an impact.
Authorities have also launched a prevention campaign in partnership with automotive influencer Georges Maroun Kikano, known as GMK, who has urged drivers to respect local rules and keep high-performance driving off public roads.
The stricter measures will also be applied during the upcoming Monaco Grand Prix in June, as Monaco continues efforts to balance major international events with public safety.
