Monaco issues summer travel advice ahead of holiday season
Monaco's government is urging residents and nationals travelling abroad this summer to check entry requirements, prepare for emergencies and take simple precautions before they leave.
As the summer holidays begin, Monaco's Department of External Relations and Cooperation (DREC) is reminding Monegasque nationals and residents to prepare carefully before travelling abroad to help ensure a safe and hassle-free trip.

Travellers are being encouraged to check the entry requirements for their destination well in advance, including passport validity, visa or electronic travel authorisation requirements, and any health or customs regulations.
Officials note that many countries require passports to remain valid for at least six months beyond the planned return date.
The government is also recommending that Monegasque citizens travelling overseas register with Fil d'Ariane, a free French government service that provides security alerts and practical information in the event of major incidents such as natural disasters or political unrest.
In the event of an emergency abroad, Monegasque nationals should contact Monaco's embassy or consulate where available.
In countries without Monegasque diplomatic representation, they may seek assistance from a French embassy or consulate under the Franco-Monegasque Treaty.
Foreign residents of Monaco are advised to contact the diplomatic authorities of their own country.
The DREC also recommends taking out appropriate travel and repatriation insurance, keeping digital copies of important documents, leaving emergency contact details with a trusted relative or friend, and staying informed about local conditions throughout the trip.
The department has wished all travellers a safe and enjoyable summer while reminding them to remain informed and prepared before travelling abroad.
