A special celebration was held at Amazónico Monte-Carlo ahead of the race’s historic Grand Départ in the Principality.

Prince Albert II joined La Vuelta director Javier Guillén and guests from the cycling world to mark 100 days until the event, while a countdown clock has also been installed overlooking Casino Square.

The famous Spanish cycling race will officially begin on 22 August with a 9.6km individual time trial through the streets of Monaco before riders continue into France the following day.

To celebrate the milestone, the Prince's Palace of Monaco was illuminated in red in honour of the race.

The event is expected to bring major international attention to Monaco and strengthen the Principality’s ties with world cycling.
