The Prince’s Palace was illuminated in red as a symbol of solidarity with people affected by HIV and AIDS, honouring those lost while underscoring the ongoing fight against stigma and infection.

A poignant ceremony took place inside the Oceanographic Museum, where Fight Aids Monaco presented eight memorial quilts commemorating 93 individuals who died from AIDS-related illnesses.

Princess Stéphanie, president of the association, attended the event with her daughter Camille Gottlieb and local officials.

Alongside these symbolic gestures, Monaco introduced a practical new tool in its prevention efforts.

Fight Aids Monaco has launched a weekly rapid testing service at its headquarters, offering free and confidential screening for HIV, hepatitis B and C, and other sexually transmitted infections.

The service operates every Tuesday morning, delivering results within 30 minutes and ensuring complete anonymity.

Princess Stéphanie told Monaco Info that the aim is to reach people who may feel uncomfortable visiting standard testing centres.

The association’s premises provide a more reassuring environment staffed by trained teams who offer support and information before, during and after the test.

The new centre complements existing testing services at the Princess Grace Hospital.Despite major advances in treatment and prevention testing and awareness remain vital.

UNAIDS data show that 1.3 million new HIV infections were recorded globally in 2023, with an increase among younger age groups.

Founded in 2004, Fight Aids Monaco continues to combine prevention, education, and support for those affected.

Its new testing centre expands access by removing barriers such as cost, fear and delay, helping more people understand their status.

The centre is open every Tuesday morning at Fight Aids Monaco’s headquarters, La Villa Pasteur, 15 Boulevard Charles III, offering free, confidential testing.
