Monaco supports Red September campaign against blood cancers
Monaco is supporting Red September, a month-long campaign dedicated to raising awareness of blood cancers and the importance of donations that can help patients undergoing treatment.
To mark the fifth edition of the campaign, the Prince’s Palace was illuminated in red on Tuesday 1 September as a sign of the Principality’s support.

Blood cancers, also known as haematological cancers, include conditions such as leukaemia, lymphoma and myeloma.
They cover a wide range of diseases which can often be poorly understood or less visible to the wider public.
Red September aims to improve awareness and understanding of these cancers while drawing attention to the different ways people can support patients.
In particular, the campaign highlights the importance of blood, platelet and bone marrow donations.
Bone marrow transplants can provide an important treatment option for some patients when transplantation is possible.
The Monaco Government said its participation in the campaign also reflects its wider commitment to the prevention and screening of both communicable and non-communicable diseases.
These measures form part of the Principality’s public health policy, which the Government says is aligned with recommendations from the World Health Organization.
