The Blue Economy and Finance Forum will take place on 28 and 29 May 2026 at the Grimaldi Forum Monaco, bringing together up to 300 participants from governments, finance, industry and philanthropy.

Organised by the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation and the Monaco Oceanographic Institute under the patronage of Albert II, Prince of Monaco, the forum will focus on financing the transition towards a more sustainable “blue economy”.

Discussions will cover major themes such as scaling investment in marine industries, decarbonising maritime transport, sustainable seafood systems and integrating ocean finance into global markets.

Officials say around $175 billion in annual investment is needed globally to support a sustainable ocean economy, with the sea already seen as a key driver of trade, energy transition and food security.

The event will also highlight innovative projects and partnerships aimed at protecting marine ecosystems while unlocking long-term economic growth linked to ocean resources.
