New walking routes invite visitors to explore Monaco on foot
Monaco has launched Visit Monaco City Walk, a new initiative encouraging visitors to discover the Principality at a slower pace through a series of six self-guided walking routes linking its most iconic districts and attractions.
Developed by the Department of Public Works, the Environment and Urban Development, the Department of Finance and Economy, and the Interministerial Delegation for Digital Transition, the project aims to make it easier for visitors to leave their car behind and experience Monaco on foot.

At the heart of the initiative is the website citywalk.visitmonaco.com, where visitors can plan their visit, choose one of six themed routes and discover points of interest along the way.
"Monaco is a destination to be experienced as much as it is to be visited," said Guy Antognelli, Director of Tourism and Conventions.
"With Visit Monaco City Walk, we want to give visitors everything they need to explore its neighbourhoods, enjoy unexpected discoveries and make the most of their stay."
The six routes showcase different sides of the Principality, from the glamour of Monte-Carlo to the historic streets of Monaco-Ville, the waterfront at Port Hercule and the recently developed Mareterra district.
Highlights include a 1.8-kilometre walk from Casino Square to the Prince's Palace, passing Port Hercule, and a shorter route linking Monte-Carlo with Larvotto Beach via the famous Fairmont Hairpin, Mareterra and the Grimaldi Forum.
Other itineraries begin at the Wurtemberg car park, taking visitors through Fontvieille, La Condamine and the UNESCO Garden, while two further routes explore the Rock, the Oceanographic Museum, Saint-Martin Gardens and Fort Antoine before descending towards Port Hercule.
The initiative also provides practical information, including recommended car parks, helping visitors park on arrival before exploring Monaco's neighbourhoods, gardens, museums, restaurants and viewpoints on foot.
